SUMMIT ALLGÄU Production 2024: Focusing on MES and Energy Management

At SUMMIT ALLGÄU Production 2024 in Marktoberdorf, a meeting place for managers and decision-makers in the manufacturing industry, the focus was on the future of production, in combination with sustainability. Our Head of Business Unit MES, Alexander Harder, and Felix Kiesele, Management Consultant at Enit, were present on October 7 and 8, 2024. We work closely with ENIT within the Proalpha Group. Our common focus: the digital shop floor. For this, we offer software solutions for MES and CAQ, which ENIT complements with carbon and energy management.

The challenges of future production

On the first day of the congress, senior industry representatives provided authentic insights into their production processes and the challenges they face. The focus was on the question of how companies can master the growing variety of variants in production while simultaneously operating in a carbon-neutral manner. This is exactly where our solutions come in: While our MES system MESQ-it controls and monitors production processes in real time, ENIT's software enables efficient and sustainable energy monitoring with carbon reporting. Felix Kiesele highlighted: "The combination of MES and energy management makes it possible to control production in a data-based manner while continuously reducing the carbon footprint."

Digitalization as the key to efficiency and sustainability

"The digitalization of the shop floor is the key to efficiency and sustainability," emphasized Alexander Harder, thus summarizing the topic of the second day of the congress. Most speakers agreed that artificial intelligence (AI) can already generate significant added value in production. As members of the Proalpha Group, both Böhme & Weihs and Enit are directly linked to the AI group companies Nemo and Empolis. This means: We can quickly and easily give access to AI tools to our customers – and thus offer them a decisive advantage.

Conclusion: MES as the basis for the digital shop floor of the future

Our joint participation in the SUMMIT ALLGÄU Production impressively demonstrated how important digitalization is for the future of production. Together with the energy management solutions of Enit and the AI tools of Nemo and Empolis, our MES forms the basis for the digital shop floor of the future – and thus for a production that can use all potential for efficiency and sustainability supported by AI.
