Böhme & Weihs

Rooted in Our Regions

Supporting people, talent and great ideas

For over 20 years, we've supported social projects, organizations and community initiatives around our locations in Wuppertal and Aalen. A key focus of our commitment is the financial support of local initiatives — enabling us to provide direct and immediate assistance to people in need.
We’re equally committed to promoting education and science. Whether it's hosting career orientation events, giving lectures at universities, or offering scholarships — nurturing future talent is a core part of our corporate philosophy.

Social Commitment 2023

Supporting Future Talent: Our 2023/24 Deutschlandstipendium

We are proud to sponsor another Deutschlandstipendium scholarship this academic year, supporting Sebastian Baum in his computer science studies at the University of Wuppertal. We are happy to help Sebastian focus fully on his education. Beyond financial support, we see ourselves as mentors. We invite our scholarship recipients to gain practical experience as working students, explore the world of a software company, and contribute their own ideas. The future needs bright minds!

Social Commitment 2022

Donation to the Maja Fischer Hospice in Aalen

Our Aalen office supported the Maja Fischer Hospice in Ebnet/Aalen, which provides holistic and personalized care for people facing terminal illness. As the hospice relies on donations to cover the portion of care not reimbursed by health insurance, we were pleased to contribute. Florian Schwarz and Anja Furrer of Böhme & Weihs (left to right) presented a donation of €3,000 to hospice director Andreas Gröber.

Donation to the Winzig Foundation in Wuppertal

With a donation of €3,000, we supported the Winzig Foundation in Wuppertal, which focuses on early childhood development. One of its initiatives, "Culture in the Morning," gives local elementary school children the chance to work with professional artists, offering them the freedom to express themselves, grow, and discover both themselves and others through creative exploration.

Participation in the Schwebebahnlauf Running Event

10 years of the Schwebebahnlauf running event — and finally back live on the B7 highway! On June 19, 2022, a total of 2,300 runners took part in the anniversary race. We’re proud that 12 runners from Böhme & Weihs Wuppertal joined the event and delivered outstanding performances: Rüdiger Gotzes-Wolff, Achraf Bakkali, Philippe Quintric, Salah Kadifachi, Torben Krüger, Jonathan Althaus, Rafik Al Sulaiman, Eberhard Rompf, Saliha Selen, Sawsan Henedy, Ramsey Rompf, and Roland Brand.

Participation in the Schwelm City Run 2022

After a two-year break due to COVID, the Schwelm City Run made its comeback — and Böhme & Weihs Wuppertal was back on the course! On September 17, 2022, our strong-running team competed in the 5 km company run through downtown Schwelm and proudly took 3rd place overall. Congratulations to Rüdiger Gotzes-Wolff, Guido Goldammer, Alexander Sandalcidi, Torben Krüger, Saliha Selen, Alexander Schröder, and Achraf Bakkali for an outstanding performance! Special thanks to Jade Tolksdorf and Burkhardt Rex for capturing the event in photos and supporting our team on-site.

Sponsoring a Deutschlandstipendium at the University of Wuppertal

In the 2021/2022 funding year, we once again sponsored a Deutschlandstipendium scholarship at the University of Wuppertal, supporting Mr. Sandro Wahl in his computer science studies. In addition to financial assistance, we're proud to provide mentoring and share our professional expertise to help him succeed.

Social Commitment 2021

Donation to the Fire Department in Abtsgmünd

Our Aalen location contributed €2,300 to help equip additional emergency vehicles with thermal imaging cameras, which are vital tools for detecting hidden fire sources. The donation also funded new carbon monoxide detectors, providing firefighters with added protection in hazardous environments.

Donation to Kindertal Initiative

We donated €2,500 to support the "A Bed for Every Child in Wuppertal" initiative, run by Kindertal e.V. Through this initiative, the organization brings attention to the fact that many children in Wuppertal don't have a bed of their own. Some must share with siblings, others sleep on thin mattresses on the floor.

Participation in the Virtual Schwebebahnlauf Running Event

Due to COVID-19, the traditional Schwebebahnlauf running event took place virtually in 2021 as the #schwebebahnlaufchallenge from June 1 to 30. Our Wuppertal location joined with a 10-person team, participating across disciplines including running, walking, hiking, and cycling. Together, the team covered an impressive 1,589.48 kilometers — securing 10th place overall. A great achievement and a testament to strong team spirit!

2020/21: Deutschlandstipendium Scholarship

Once again, we supported a Deutschlandstipendium scholarship at the University of Wuppertal for the academic year of 2020/2021. The scholarship was awarded to Sandro Wahl, a computer science student. In addition to our internship and apprenticeship opportunities, this scholarship helps computer science students start their academic journey — and later, their professional careers — with strong support and guidance.

Social Commitment 2020

Donation to Lichtblicke e. V.

We donated €2,500 to the COVID-19 relief efforts of Aktion Lichtblicke, supporting individuals who have fallen into financial hardship through no fault of their own due to the pandemic. Many of those affected are families and single parents who, despite government aid programs, are no longer able to cover basic living expenses.

Supporting the Hermann Hesse School in Aalen

Our Aalen location donated more than €2,500 to the Hermann Hesse School, enabling the purchase of a wide range of playground equipment. The school's all-day care program serves 90 children at this special education and support center.

Donation to Kinder- und Jugendfarm e. V.

With a donation of €2,000, we supported the Kinder- und Jugendfarm organization in Wuppertal in acquiring a horse-drawn carriage. The carriage helps ensure the horses are regularly exercised and fits perfectly into the farm's educational concept, which focuses on teaching children and youth to interact responsibly with nature and animals.
